In 1897, Karl Ferdinand Braun
invented the first computer monitor.

The first monitors
use CRT technology (cathode ray rob).
3.
The earliest version
of CRT was known as "Braun Tube"
4.
The monitor is an output
device.
5.
The monitor is the
most commonly used on personal computers.

Nowadays, monitors
have been replaced by LCDs.
7.
The monitor is also
called as display or a screen.
8.
A monitor displays
the information, commands, webpage etc.

The quality of the
display depends upon the resolution of the display.

The resolution
depends upon the pixels.

Pixels
are tiny dots that form on the screen.

There are two
main types of monitors:

Color Monitors
ii. Black and White Monitors.

Different types of monitors
have different resolutions e.g.

Color Graphic
Adapter (CGA) has a resolution of 320x200.
15.
Extended Graphic
Adapter (EGA) has a resolution of 640x350.
16.
Video Graphic
Adapter (VGA) has a resolution of 640x480.
17.
Super Video
Graphic Adapter (S-VGA) has a resolution from 800x600 to 1280x1024.
